Jezu Ufam Tobie
Rubied roses and splattered wine, spilling sunsets, bruises, burns,
fired iron and ancient rust, edge of danger, passionate love—
Gentle yeses and offered palms, tight embraces and forgetting, restart,
restarts, and open roads, empty pages, absolution.
Glass window panes and brimming eyes, dragonfly wings and gossamer,
the endless skies and diamonds, midnight moonlight and final breaths—
The thumping drum of heart anew, the cool inhale at the summit,
first trusting steps on unsure legs, and the break of dawn on Sunday.
